Hello,

Is the forward cat converter supposed to have two machine made holes in it? If so, are they supposed to leak exhaust especially when tail pipe is covered up?

I don't see any. There should be a front and rear O2 sensors that would have machined holes, but the sensors would be in them. There may be plugs that blew out, maybe post a pic? There definitly should be no leakage.

My best guess is those are for a heat shield attachment points that are bolted on.

Should it have a heat shield on the back of it? (the part between the engine and the cat converter)
