As much as I would love to have a professional do any and all work on my vehicle, I just don't have the money to make that happen. Let's face it, I have a 1998 Nissan Sentra. My wife said that she has had to put brake fluid in, several times & the brakes are very soft, to a point that the car almost doesn't stop. I have looked in many places online to get some indication of the true problem. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to come up with an exact solution. Where do I start? What am I up against by doing the work myself, etc.? I would really appreciate any help that you are willing to offer. I have small children & don't want to risk anything with them. Thanks in advance.

hi ...you need to first look behind each wheel and look for wet spots if wet on a rear wheel then you need wheel cylinders.you don,t have to have an expert to repair your brakes .but someone knowledgable of the brake system.the parts stores can help you understand how to replace parts.look under the master cylinder.is their a trail of fluid there?pump the brake pedal up all the way and look at the lines..for fluid leaks.once you locate the leak write back i will tell you exactly how to repair. safety advice included i too have small kids. good luck billymac
