The distributor is giving off a very weak spark and the car won't start. What could be causing this?

Remove the 2-wire connector from the distributor housing. Check resistance between those two wires (primary resistance). It should be about 1.0 ohm.
Test secondary resistance between black/wire wire on the connector and the high tension tower (on the distributor towards the cap. It should be about 10,000 ohms.
If either one is not within specs, replace distributor as a unit.
