I had to have AAA come out today because I locked the keys in the car. The tech was NOT able to open the either door. After he left, I was able to get the drivers door opened by using a slim jim that my employer provided. However, after I got the door opened, it will not lock or close. I had to secure the door to drive home. Do I need to send it to the shop or is this something that I can do myself?

depends on how mechanically adept you are.
mechanical work is not for everyone but if you are patient and want to save money,
all you need is a phillips head screwdriver and intuition
look at the inner door handle and the edges of the door panel, you should see where to use the tool.
once you remove the panel, it should be easy to see how the locks work and if the solution is repair or replace.
have the window all the way up before you begin.
