1999 Nissan Pulsar Surging and power loss.

After50 miles vehicle loses power then surges weaker and weaker until engine stops, after a short stop she fires and seems ok then the same things happens, always under load. She idles fine, eventually needed a tow, this was after I bypassed fuel filter( it wasn't that)
Roadside repair guy thinks it might be fuel pump or possibly the coil, now the auto mechanic tells me he can't find a problem, now I know there IS a problem and sure as hell the same things going to happen when I attempt to drive home over 50 miles away.

Could be caused by one of the following below

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.
