I have a 87 Nissan Pathfinder 3.0. 4x, automatic. I pulled the engine to replace front and rear seals due to oil leak.
( Prime the pump). Now the oil light will not go out. Not getting any oil pressure.
Could i have air in the pump?
And if so is there any way to maybe prime the pump extenally?
Really dont want to pull that engine out again if i can help it. please help need to get car running

Leakage between the oil pickup tube and pump, as well as between the pump and block can also suck air into the pump.

It is not unusual to find engines where the pickup tube has fallen completely off, causing a complete loss of oil pressure

Good Luck
