1999 Nissan Pathfinder bent rod

The car makes a noise and my uncle says it is a bent rod, but it still runs. Should I buy 4 new tires to get this car on the road or is it a gonner.

as a mechanic I can tell you rods dont bend the bearing on the crank end can be worn causing a rapping sound if crank has not been scored by a spun bearing and assuming the rod end is still "round" you can replace the bearing but it could also be the other end of the rod which contains the wristpin connecting to the piston !
