Hello,
I just had my mechanic change the timing belt. Prior to that the car was running fine and getting 15 mpg.
Now with re-assembly the car is now down to 11 mpg and when holding a steady speed above 30 mph, the car has what feels like a mild surge. We put in new ignition wires distirbutor cap and rotor.
Any Ideas?

SOUNDS LIKE WHEN A NEW TIMING BELT WAS INSTALLED THE MECHANIC MUST OF GOTTEN THE ENGINE SET OUT OF POSITION .SO WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING YOU FEEL THE SURGE BECAUSE IT IS MISSING A BIT.HAVE THE TIMING CHECKED WITH A TIMING LIGHT TO ENSURE IT IS CORRECT.
