Car won't start in cold weather

I have a nissan pulsar 1984/86 model that has done 178,000. It still has the original motor in it.
This is a real strange one here but in the cold weather my car won't start. It turns a few times then completely dies. You would swear the battery was dead, but it's not as all indicator lights are still lit up.
It gets even more weird...If I back my car out into the sun, lift the lid and let it sit soaking up the suns warmth for 10 minutes then it will start first go.
No-one here in the town I live in seems to know what is wrong. I have had the battery replaced twice and a new starter motor fitted but nothing has been successful yet. This problem is only in the winter months and I have put up with it for the past 2 years but can't any longer. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Donna

When it refuses to start you need to check for spark and fuel then comeback with the missing one for a start.
