I am trying to repair this van. The problem is that it keeps on stalling on me because the idle is not holding on. If I release the gas pedal , it will die. When I rap it up , a lot of black smokes starts coming out of the tail pipe. I knew this would mean a lot of fuel would come in the engine. Rich mixture . I did scanned the engine , I got one code , knock sensor. On the other hand , I'm thinking if this sensor can really cause this much problems , which I doubt. Would it be anything else before this? Anybody have had this problem before? I am seeking for professional advice.
