Engine Performance problem
1976 Other Nissan Models 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
I have a 1976 Datsun 620 pickup truck with a L20B engine. I have installed a Weber 32/36 DGEV-IC carb, Pertronix electronic ignition.
When I first start my engine and drive down the road all seems fine. The problem starts after I have turned the engine off for a few minutes (example go inside a store then return to the vehicle) it takes a few turn overs to start the engine and once its running, it runs unevenly almost like the fuel is being turned off and on.
I took this vehicle to a local mechanic and he said I had an air leak at the base plate of the carb. He replaced that gasket. Also he adjusted the valves and checked the timing. Still doing the same even after all that. I did also change the fuel filter.
Any ideas what is wrong?
