2001 Nissan Maxima overfull of motor oil

I cahnged the oil and filter in the Maxima about a month back. The reading on the dip stick was fine, however today I checked it several times and it is overfull. oil is way up on the dipstick. Bad oil filter ?? I used a Fram filter,

Hi there,

if the filter was draining back it won't account for a huge amount of oil, check that the oil is not diluted with fuel, re check after a short run and let it stand for a few moments to stabilize, if still over full, re adjust level and monitor for any change for a while.
