2001 Nissan Maxima GLE, 139,500 km, 3.0 V6 engine.
When I pass someone on the highway, to accelerate I press hard on the gas pedal. The transmission seems to shift to a gear that's too low - the rev's go up, but the car doesn't accelerate. I then let up a little on the gas and the transmission seems to shfit up to a higher gear, then the car accelerates as expected. Is this normal for Nissan? Is there repairs needed?
