The humming noise should be from the accelerator controls and should not be directly related to the non starting.

For non starting, you would need to check what is missing, fuel, sparks or a mechanical fault.

Was any repairs carried prior to this occurring?

Are you able to crank the engine?

yes i have changed the timeing chain but that is perfect and everything is the way that it should be atleast when it comes to the timeing?

The engine turns over just doesent fire

Did this problem occur immediately after replacement of the timing chain?

If yes, then it is possible some sensors are not connected or there could be some problem with the synchronisation of the sprockets.

i have done a compresion test and the left bank is pushing 105 pounds and the right bank 150 pounds i think it might be vavles, because shouldnt it run around 145-160 pounds the safe zone or could it be something else. The car wants to start but im thinking that there is just not enough compression to kick it over:( What do you think?????

With compresion this low should the engine still fire or not, i sort of need to know because im considering putting a new engine in due to the fact that it wont start, and its going to cost the same to do the head anyway one i buy the VRS kit for it.

At such low compression it might start but the difference in compression is most likely to be due to improper timing chain synchronisation which is causing the non starting. Recheck the timing chain and if it is out of sync, reinstall and retest the compression. If compression increases, then engine might be able to start.

I have another question.
Im pretty sure that i have installed the timeing chain wrong and need one last bit of help if thats okay with you?
I need to know how many linkages there are between the gold link and all of the other links on the timeing chain, as my new one didnt come with the gold on it.
This was my problem, im pretty sure that am only out one or two teeth, but need that info to make sure its dead correct.
This would greatly help me and i will make another donation, ASAP

I am sorry our database does not have any information as to the number of linkages between the marks.

All timing chains should come with markers and if it is not gold, it should be links that are slightly darker than others. It sometimes is difficult to differentiate the links if coated with oil. A strong light would be required.

If you have the old chain, you should be able to count the links. If not available, drop by your local shop and request them to show you the chain from where you can count the number of links.

If i carnt see the links then i will call into autobarn
and see if they have one with the marks.
