1999 Nissan Maxima replaced both cv axles

We replaced both cv axles in my fathers maxima today and no drive or reverse. Now i am not new to the scene when it comes to cv axles i have done at least 5-6 in the past 15 years and i never had a problem before. The car needed both lower ball jts, both swaybar links and both drive axles for insp... Replaced everthing like i would any other time, finished set the car back on the ground, ckd the trans fluid, started it up and nothing at all. Now the only thing i can think of is the axles are limited slip and the trans axle code on the car said it wasnt. Did the parts store give us the wrong axles? Did the car have an engine,trans swap? Or what i am hoping for did the trans loose to much fluid when the axles where out and maybe the nissan trans has some type of bleeding that needs performed?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting that it needed axles and ball joints for inspection....Here in NY, neither one matters.

We always look closely at the axles shafts to compare them and be sure they are right...too many bad experiences.

This gives a better description of defining if you have the right part.

IS the axle seated in all the way? May have a bad rebuild as well.

I'm not aware of this having any special ramications ...especially one that is causing no movement.

the axles are new not remans. When we replaced the drivers side i made sure i was seated by turning it and watch the other side and the passenger side installs by bolting in on the halfshaft joint. Thats why i thought it was something with the trans its just weird and i am clueless. i still think we where supplied with the locking diff axles. ???

If it was working before the replacement, I would be surprised if it was the tranny.

Like I said, check the link on the axles and try to determine what you have.

What brand did you use and what part numbers, maybe I can cross them.
