1998 Nissan Maxima bad o2 sensor

Would like to know by using 89 octane gas instead of 91 octane gas as manual recon. would this keep causing by engine light to go on, and causing the o2 sensor to go bad?

no damage to the o2 sensors as long as its unleaded, and no check engien light either unless it causes engine knocking, which i doubt it.
