I've starting trouble in my car. It always cranks for some time and then it starts, but at times starts immediately as well.. so i checked with Firestone, i was given the below explanation, " Car has broken air inlet tube before mass airflow meter. would need air box from mass air flow to throttle body." They showed me a black tubular structure broken.. and if that is replaced it should fix the problem. they also told me to replace the starter. and gave an estimate for $365 to replace it.
my question is, what would be the cost to replace the air box. and will replacing the airbox fix the problem or should i replace the starter as well. how can i isolate that the problem is with starter or not.
Thanks in advance for your help.
