Transmission control unit

The transmission control module is located in the center console up by the dash. Here are some diagrams so you can see what I am talking about.

I got my transmission fixed about a year ago and my transmission started to run different. I took the car back & told them what was wrong they checked it & said it was a computer problem. They said that they did'nt touch the computer and it was'nt under warranty. I got the auto fixed at 112000 miles and the transmission has been fine. But at long distance driving & high speeds the transmision shifts into 2nd gear. Sometimes I can shut the car off and turn it back on and it would run fine for a while. I have 130000 miles on the car now and it seems to be getting worse. I took it to a couple of transmission shops and they wanted to fix the transmission. I already paid $1300 for the rebuilt one and dose'nt seem fair to spend another $1600 to fix this problem. Is there anything that I can do to fix this problem without it costing thousands of dollars.

Not if something inside the trans is hurt due to the bad computer. Sometimes when the comp goes it will or can burn up internal parts that must be replaced for it to work right again
