Noises problem
1995 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 161000 miles

I have a 95 nissan maxima, and i am having some minor problems with the car. for 1 my heater is not working, when i turn the heat on it is only blowing out cold air and it does not want to heat up. I am only 20 mins from work and it still doesn't get warm at all.
The 2nd question is a little more detailed. When i am driving the car for awhile and i stop at a red light or a stop sign the car seems to want to stall. The oil light starts to flash and the car stalls. It does take me quite a while to get it started. But if i put the car in Park it is fine. And by the time I get home the car is smoking under the hood What can be the problems? Can you please help me. I am a single mother with a 8 yr old daughter. I just want the car to be safe and not break done with her in the car.
