Bob & Ken,

I have a 95 Nissan Maxima that has an issue with the
AC. After the AC has been running for some time or I am taking an extended drive on the highway it
stops blowing any air through the vents.

After driving on the highway for over 45 minutes or an hour straight my AC stops blowing air through the vents. I can turn up the controls using manual settings to increase the fan speeds but the air still
does not flow out through any vents, I can hear the blower increase and decrease with these control changes.

To get the system to start working again I shut it off
for about 10-15 minutes. When I turn it back on it
starts to blow cold air through the vents properly.
I do not have this issue when I am driving around
town because I do not keep it running for 45 minutes to an hour plus with the AC continuously
running.

I had the AC serviced at the dealer last summer where it received a pressure check and new freon.
Everything checked out. I have owned this car since it was new and never had any AC issues before.

Could my AC system be freezing up and that is why
it begins to work again after I shut it down because it "thaws out"?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Nick

the problem might be one of the electrical switches that move the vents under the dash.
