I had my cruise control set about 65 on the highway. When I braked to slow down the cruise shut off and in doing so my acclelerator became disconnected from the engine. The engine continued to run but wwhen i pressed on the accelerator there was nothing. I coasted off the highway safely. It was like the accelerator had become disconnected from the rest of the engine. What happened?
