Timg belt replacement
What should i expect to pay a qualified technician? Also, I read something about a certain motor that when timing belt goes out it will ruin valves, etc
Is this my motor?

Hello and thanks for the donation!

Your vehicle is equipped with one of the two engines. A V6 DOHC or a V6 SOHC. Which motor is in your vehicle? The DOHC engine uses a timing chain while the SOHC uses a timing belt. Belts need replaced on a regular maintenance schedule but chains only need replaced if you are experiencing timing issues.

estimate is below and yes your vehicle has an interference motor meaning that if timing belt fails during operation there is a great chance that the engine sustained severe internal damage..

Whats the best way to check the engine for damage before spending the money and labor on a timing belt? I want to try to fix this myself.

taking it apart is the best way to see if the valves have been bent or not
