Speedometer

I have a problem with the speedometer in my truck. It only works part of the time and when it does work it might jump from 0 to 80. I can knock on the dash it will go to the right speed. What can I do to fix this?

I have the same truck and the same problem. I have not tried hitting the dash.

Common problem with these clusters but they can be repaired. Try to install a used cluster thats what fixed mine.

This sounds like a the VSS is going out. Here is the location.
