ok, so my great-grandfather bought this car brand new. the miles are all original. just recently, the car started... well almost like it was slipping out of gear? mostly noticed it going up the hill i live on. but today, it just flat stopped half way up the hill. the engine does not stall, the rpms increase with the acceleration. just no go. tried throwin it in reverse to at least make it up the hill... but no go. there was also a funny smell... like over heat.... i am worried because i do not have much to put into the car, and it has been well maintained the whole time my family has owned it... please any suggestions. i hope not to hear the tranny gone...
