1989 Nissan Bluebird battery indicator stays on while ignit

1989 Nissan Bluebird 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Note: when altenator plug is removed, the battery indicator goes OFF (and the Lamp check relay also goes off). The battery indicator stays even while ignition is OFF.

Hi there,

I would be thinking that you have a faulty alternator and voltage is back feeding through a failed diode, i would check this out first.
