My 2001 Nissan Ultima, 4 cylinder, 94,000 miles has had approximately $2,200.00 worth of engine work since July 13th, 2007 when I filled up with gasoline and could barely make it out of the station's parking lot. The Nissan service specialist said we had gotten VERY BAD gasoline and referenced it as "swamp water." He put a sample of it in bottle for us in case we wanted to get it tested. My first question is: "where could we get it tested?" My second question is this: "Is all the work they've done on it since July 13th, 2007 interelated with the bad gasoline??" Work/Replacements on July 14, 2007 are as follows: 1) 2 engine drive belts; 2) EFI Consult Diag & R&R Fuel Tank/CL, Packing-Fuel GA; 3) Fuel Filter; 4) Fuel Injector Service; 5) Spark Plugs; 6) Oil Change. Work/Replacements on August 21, 2007 were done as a result of "Check Engine Light" that didn't resolve itself after 5 days: 1) Engine Performance Diagnosis; 2) Catalysts and Gaskets, 3-Way Catal, Cap Converter; 3) Knock Sensor, Sensor Assy-Kno; 4) Air Flow Meter and Air Filter, Volume Air Flow, Element Assy-AI
I would so appreciate a detailed response "in kind."
