2005 Nissan Altima air conditioner freon smell

i recently had my ac recharged and ever since then it smells like freon or at least i think. i smells like those little cans of compressed air. im not sure what to do as the shop i had it done at is under new ownership. is that a health issue because i have a newborn and i dont want to take any chances.
