I took the car to one garage because the dashboard had the sign on 'needs service'. The mechanic reset the computer and told me that I did not close the gas cover well. Next day sign came back. I took it to the car dealer Nissan. I told them the story, hooked the engine in their computer because they have 'real tools', I got the same results, with the same answer. Do regular garages do the same work as the dealer car service (Nissan). Should I pay the dealer for hooking the computer? Should I be worried about?
Thanks a lot.

Hello,

Ok, first off a "Regular" garage does the same work as a Dealer just is usually more expensive at the dealer.

Also "Regular" garages have "Real Tools" also. They are just more portable than a Dealer.

And yes you will have to pay the dealer for there diagnosis.

My suggestion since you got the same code and answer from both. Is that you purchase a New Gas Cap. And see if that fixes the problem.
