Hi there,

The tachometer is an indication of engine revolutions per Minuit (R.P.M.) at idle the engine is only running very slowly so the rpm indicator is showing this. when driving the engine is running at a much faster speed, required to develop the power to drive the transmission, so the RPM's are registering higher.

Hi there,

I am not exactly sure about your problem, is it an engine noise that is your concern, can you supply a bit more detail please.

When i drive my car it seems like the rpms are way to high and thats when the sound of the engine gets louder. Someone said it could a tube problem or a crack in the manafold

Hi there,

Have the exhaust system checked for leaks, especially around the exhaust manifold and engine pipe. this can sound as if the engine is revving faster than it actually is. Start here first. A vacuum leak can cause the engine to idle faster than it should.
