my nissan altima 2002 2.5s burns alot of oil, how do i fix the problem?

I think i remember there being a campaign (a recall) that had something to do with the catalytic converter. and one of the symptoms was high oil useage.
and cats are covered for 8 years under federal law.
call a nissian dealer with your VIN and ask if your car was part of the cat recall.
