This car was taken in to a Tire Center for a flat tire. The tire was under warranty and adjusted. They said the car needed front axle replacement. I cannot believe a car with such low mileage would need this service. Believe them or not? I didn't have the work done yet.

so are you wanting to know how to replace the front axle or are you asking if this is an uncommon problem?

I was asking if this sounds like a real problem or is the dealer trying to pad the bill? The car has very low miles and isn't driven too often. Why should it be in need of axle replacement? Unless this is a common problem in that make and model. Should I seek more estimates?

this does sound like an uncommon problem with a vehicle of that low of miles and if the car hasn't been drove much then i wouldn't think it would need one unless in the time it has been drove ot has been drove hard and fast like around turns and bends if not then yes i would deff. get a diffrent mechanics opinion on this besides the dealer just have another mechanic look at it
