2000 Nissan Altima Axles grinding

Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
2000 Nissan Altima Automatic

I recently changed the axle on the driver's side, but there is a grinding noise when I turn corners. Could it be because I forgot to grease the spline before inserting it into the transmission?

We don't.

See if you can raise the front end so the wheels are off the ground and turning it while in gear, it may do it at idle in gear. Try to locate the source that way. You may have a defective axle.

Could also be the hub bearing...

Makes me ask what torque you put on the axle nut?...critcal to have it right.

I will try to turn the car on while its jacked up and rotate the wheel to see if I can locate the noise. I don't know if it is torqued to the right specs., but I used a breaker bar to tighten it down. Maybe there is something bent that is rubbing.

Spec is 174-231 ft lbs, I know you didn't get it right...a large torque wrench is a required tool for this job! The bearing can be damaged by driving even a few feet with an improperly torqued axle nut...
