Looks like it is right on top. Shouldnt be too dificult.Disconnect neg batt cable before starting any work. Unbolt pivot and mounting bolts and remove alt, install new one.Be sure battery is charged before starting car or you could damage new alt.I included a pic of the belt routing in case it falls off the pulleys

It is not necessary, you may need to move the coolant reserve bottle and A/C line for better access

Remove battery cables
Loosen and remove the two belt adjustment bolts (top) and remove the belt
Disconnect three electrical connectors from the alternator
Loosen and remove pivot bolt bolt (bottom)

What are the steps to remove and replace the alternator.
It has a serpentine belt and i figure to try to keep it taught so i do not have to put it back on each pulley.( i can't really see where the other pulleys are from above the engine.)
Thanks

REMOVAL 1.Remove upper radiator hose. 2.Disconnect harness connectors, harness stay and harness to A/C compressor. 3.Release accelerator wire. 4.Back off adjustment bolt, remove belt. 5.Remove three generator bolts and generator. INSTALLATION To install, reverse the removal procedure. https://www.2carpros.com/kpages/auto_repair_manuals_alldata.htm

I have been having and alternator issue. I replaced one and it was putting out 15.84 volts, I took that one off and replaced it with and other that wasnt putting out even 1 volt. Does it sound like I am having bad luck with alternators or, does it sound like there is a bigger problem? Thank you in advance

try chaging your battery then have it tested, including a load test. it sounds like a bad cell or sulfated.

I am replacing my alternator on my 95 Nissan Altima. This is my first repair job. I have loosened the bolts, adjusting bolt and electrical components and I can't get the alternator to budge. Where is the bolt that loosens the alternator belt. It is not mentioned in the Chilton's manual under removing an alternator.
Any help would be appreciated.
