Hi fromaz2va,

Sometimes sensors work inaccurately and the ECU is not smart enough to understand it. The light might not have come on and a scan will see whether there is any which you might not have noticed. The best way is to get a diagnostic done.

Most probable causes are the TPS and MAP/Mass sensor. However this is a drive by wire model, you need to look at the pedal side too.

Based on the mileage, I'll bet this was an
"oiled up distributor" from the notorious inner shaft of the distributor leaking

A vacuum guage would be helpful in detecting ignition problems, mechanical problems and vacuum leaks. A vacuum leak can cause the problem you are experiencing, and they can be very frustrating to figure out. Using a can of carburetor spray, spray around your intake manifold and throttle body to see if this effects engine idle. Check all vacuum hoses. Just a different approach than the computer components.
