1992 Nissan Altima Catalytic converter/Exhaust pipe broken

Hi,

The connection between the pipe and the catalytic converter below the car is rusted and is broken thereby giving the huge noise while the engine is on and while driving.

How much does it cost for the part and the repair approximately?

Other suggestions are welcome.

Worst case scenario, you may have to replace the cat. If you purchase the cat from the exhaust repair place, they will charge around $300 plus pipe plus install. Will be around $600.

rockauto.com has your cat for about $105.00. All you have to do now is have the shop install. You save about $200.
