Hello everyone, I have 2004 nissan 350z, 34 000 miles. I did the stupid mistake to clean the engine with water hose and the intake flier got wet. I was driving the car a mile and then I stopped to dry it. The next day the check engine appeared. I checked the spark plugs and one of them was in oil. Any ideas where is the problem? Do you think that the piston rings are out or may be cylinder wall? Thank you in advance……

Finding the oil was a coincidence. That sounds like it may just be a valve cover gasket or seal leaking. To find out what got wet you will need to have it scanned for codes. Autozone will do it for free, get back with the code/codes

took all the spark plugs and I left it open for couple of days. Then I put them together again and I started the car. In the beginning was dong the same thing. The RPMs where bordering me because made it below .5 and then up again. It was like that for about 10 min then disappeared. I went to Autozone and they checked it with the computer. No code was found. And the check engine is not on already. But I am still confused. The car works good now, like everything is ok but I am still thinking about this oil that I found in the spark plug.

Like I said before...... sounds like th evalve cover gasket. The water finally dried and now all is good..... you really shouldnt clean your engine with the garden hose or other pressurized sprayers
