Nissan Quest Brake Pad Question

I know from working on my own brakes that I wouldn't take the time to smooth out the rotors if they seemed "smooth enough" :) But as any brake professional will tell you, there is usually uneven wear somewhere. They can vary in thickness around the diameter from moments of brake stomping, or they could show some kind of "warpage" from heat (I've heard that, but I don't know if thats true). Anyhow, I know techs usually like to only take things apart once when it concerns the same reason, such as getting you smooth brakes, so they were probably just being safe instead of sorry. They don't like to have customers coming back with some type of squeal or shimmy after you just paid a week ago to have them installed. If you come in with a complaint, then it is there fault, and they don't get to charge you for the shave like they would have done earlier. That's my opinion.
