I started my car the other day and the service engine light came on. The car seems to be running and driving fine. The engine has some ticking to it and the RPM's fluctuates randomly ever once in a while. My biggest concern is the service engine light and why its on when there seems to be no major problem with the car.

need to use diagnostic scanner to retrieve trouble code(s) stored . most auto part stores will do this for free if you ask.
