They work very slow. Wondering if I need a new battery. I purchased the car 8 months ago, and the battery does look pretty tired.

otherwise, It starts right up, and the headlights are nice and bright. It's a fun little car to drive. I had it checked by a certified mechanic and says the engine is still very strong and in good condition.

When you say theu run slow is it on a wet or dry windshield? If all your other accessories are working properly and the slow operation is on a wet windshield the usual suspect is the wiper motor is not providing enough torque to operate the wipers.
Check to make sure you are getting at least 11 to 12 volts to the wiper motor on high, if you are it is most likely the motor.
