The trunk latch for my car listed above wasn't shutting easily. I had to slam it down for it to latch. So, I bought a new latch on Amazon.

(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083SJ859T) to replace it.

It was a fairly easy replacement, but when I went to shut the trunk, it didn't latch at all, not even when I slam it. I tried opening it with the emergency open, with the trunk lever by the driver, and with the key fob. And I made sure the latch would close by using a screwdriver. I'm not really sure what to do. Now I'm thinking it wasn't the latch after all. I wonder if the metal loop/hook that it latches onto is out of place somehow.

Never mind, I took apart the plastic shield around the metal loop/hook on the bottom. It was ever so slightly moved, and I loosened it and retightened it in place. And now my trunk closes easier - still not 100% perfect, but it'll do. It probably wasn't the latch after all, but for $20, I'm going to keep the new one on there.

Sorry it took so long to get to you, we have been super busy in the hot weather, it sounds like the latch tricker needs to be adjusted. Check out the images (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Thanks Ken. No worries about the delay in responding. I wasn't expecting an answer within minutes. I just updated my post so people in the future will know how to fix this issue.
