I keep having a screen pop up in my car saying there is a problem with the transmission “P” lock mechanism. how do I at stop it from doing that?

Hi,
The problem is with the electronic shift lever assembly. What really needs to be done is to have the CAN bus system scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all the computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. If you have this done and identify specific codes, it will point us in the right direction.

I am recommending this because it could be a simple connection issue in the wiring or the electronic control module could be bad. Without the code, it will become a guessing game.
The code you will be looking for will start with the letter C. Have this done and let me know what is found.
