Sure, here are the wiring diagrams for the transmission (6 speed) and range display as requested, also I included a guide to help you check the wiring.

Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thank you. I've already checked the gear selector end, have seen +12, ground, and CAN hi and CAN lo with a scope, so now I can pursue them to the transmission controller.

I would check the TCM electrical connector for corrosion, which is common, it is located behind the left front wheel well.

I just realized that I may not have specified 02E DSG. Are these cables from the DSG gear selector the same as for other transmissions?

Thank you, thank you very much. All of these diagrams have helped. I cleaned up my gear selector codes and now have a couple more to knock out, but you are providing a nice service.

The schematics I had already verified for the gear selector had +12, Gnd, hi and lo CAN bus. What else is there, right? There was a second +12 input on the schematic that I wasn't aware of, and (somehow) the fuse to that lead was absent. That cleared up the transmission problems before I dug too deeply into that. I think the inertia and yaw sensors may clear up when I do some driving and re-initialize some initial adaptations. But I'll at least get the car back on the road.

Was there a problem that you fixed and if so, what was it?

I supplied the second +12 that I didn't know existed. Also, replaced the connector shell, which had a broken tab that held the mating connector in place. This should eliminate the "cannot communicate with selector" error.
