Need to permanently delete anti-theft system, or bypass it

GM charged me $249.00 for a transponder key for my car listed above Aveo5 LT that I
cannot use (said technician couldn't pull key code). so I would like to
bypass anti-theft /immobilizer system so I can use another key.
I have only 1 working key . I do not need anti theft, don't think anyone is
going to steal this car!

I have seen some videos of cutting wire under dash and wiring in a resistor
for a fix .
I appreciate any resolve to my big problem.

I am familiar with that video and unfortunately that is on an earlier model Chevrolet and will not work on your vehicle. That was the early generation of the theft systems and they have been improved to prevent bypassing them. Unfortunately there is no way to bypass your system because you need the ECM to get a valid signal from the key through the system to allow the vehicle to start. So you would need to figure out a way to supply a unique code to the ECM each time you turn the key. I attached the info on how the system works.

Unfortunately not. These systems are now integrated into the starting system. In short the way it works is the key is programmed to the vehicle's theft system. So when you put the in and turn the ignition the theft system recognizes that it is a valid key and sends a coded message to the ECM. If the ECM recognizes the code as a valid code it turns on the fuel and ignition system, then turns the starter and the engine starts.

Without those codes the ECM will not start the vehicle and you can't disable it. If it were easy to disable then car thefts would be able to quickly steal vehicles and this system is meant to prevent that.

Could you bypass the 2007 Aveo5 base/LS manual 1.6L version? I'm in the same pickle but i have lost my key entirely.

Unfortunately, this is the same system as the other vehicle, so we are not able to bypass it.

The only GM vehicles that can have the system bypassed are the ones that have the resistor tab on the key. Basically, when this resistor fails, or the switch fails then you just need to match the resistance with the proper size resistor in that circuit so that the module will start the vehicle.
