Need intake manifold replacement instructions

I also forgot to mention is an oil change not necessary when you replace the intake manifold gasket because sometimes when you lift off the intake manifold coolant and dirt from the manifold falls into the engine.

The reason i asked this was because the first time I ever done an intake gasket was on my Buick. I didn't drain the entire cooling system. So, after I lifted the intake manifold coolant dropped into the engine. When it was time to do an oil change, I seen that I had a milk shake look to the my oil mixed with the coolant. I had the coolant tested and drove the car for 500 miles and didn't see anymore coolant in the oil next oil change.

So, i was wondering when I do an intake gasket on my chevy if i drain the complete cooling system I will not need to worry about getting coolant in my oil correct? I just want to make sure for when I am doing customers cars in the future because I rarely replace intake manifold gaskets daily.

As for changing the oil, the only time you need to do this is when you have to clean the gasket material off with a chemical or razor blade. Basically, if there is any chance that the material will fall into the engine is when you should change the oil.

If the gasket is a rubber gasket, then it is not needed.

The sequence is working from inside out even though it does not say that.

So, if it's a rubber gasket unlike the material gaskets in the older models, do you still need to use RTV?

Correct. I attached an image of the manifold gasket per the manual part number.

These style gaskets do not require RTV unless the manual specifically calls for it.

Yes, that is the one on the back of it on the lower section of the manifold. Does All data say anything about RTV? I cannot see any used by the factory on the original gasket.

It does not. I attached the instructions above in a previous post. It literally says to install the gasket and manifold and then tighten it.
