Check engine light on and code 7e8

My car is reading the 7e8 codes check engine light on and when I’m driving it loses acceleration. And sometimes it even stops moving I give gas out doesn’t go anywhere. It happens on drive and reverse. please help

Hi,

The number you have, 7e8, is not code but a menu for the engine data stream. This indicated there are diagnostic trouble codes stored in the engine control module.

At this point, you need to have the computer scanned to identify diagnostic codes. Here is a quick video showing how the CAN is scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all the computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. This will provide codes regardless of the module storing them.
