After after the oil change car will not drive when it is warm

My car will not drive when it is warm only when it is cold. but I did not have any issues with it until I took to Grease Monkey to get the oil changed. why is this happening?

Hi,

The only thing that would be related to this is if they used the wrong oil however, I still don't see this causing the engine to stall. This sounds more like a temp sensor issue or even an ECM issue.

However, we need to start with what oil they used and if there are codes. This will help us determine if it is related or just a coincidence.

They put the high grade oil so today I figured out my car will go into gear for like 3 or 4 blocks then the transmission will stop working so I turn the car off wait 10 min start it up again an the transmission will go agaun for a few blocks but it will drive if my car is cold not warm

Okay. This sounds like internal transmission issues. Do you have a manual shift mode? Paddle shifters? See if using the manual shift mode gives you the movement or at least more than in auto.

If it does then we need to dig into the transmission. I attached a TSB that I think talks about this. This points out the pressure control solenoid inside the valve body. Let me know if you need more information. Thanks

It dose have both manual an automatic transmission. however, when the transmission wont engage it does not work in either mode. thank you

Okay. Check out the TSB. I think you have an issue with the valve body.

Okay, how would i do that and is that expensive to fix? my car is my sons life line an i have to try to fix it.

We need to start with checking for codes. I would not recommend just replacing this without confirming it. This is not a very expensive repair compared to changing the transmission but it is not like an oil change either. It is hard to give you an estimate because the labor is going to vary. Let's start with getting the codes and we can go from there.

Okay, thank you. I will try to do that tomorrow and let you know what codes are coming up. I do know I need to change the cam shaft sensor.
