Car is still reading H and is giving me a overheating message

I got in my car to head for work and a message came up saying “coolant low service soon”. I started it after work and the message did not pop up again so I assumed it was an error. That same night the gauge went to H, quickly, then went into “limp mode”. It has been sitting in my driveway for about a week now and even now the gauge automatically goes to H and the overheating message comes back on. The coolant was topped off, the fitting for the hose was replaced along with one of the sensors. What else could it be?

There are actually two coolant temperature sensors on this vehicle. They are know to have trouble with the cylinder head temperature sensor. The other coolant sensor is for the car's computer.

You said a sensor was replaced, if it was not the cylinder head temperature sensor, that is my first suspect. Here are the directions for replacing it. All attached pictures correlate with these directions.

Removal

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe and the turbocharger inlet pipe.

4. Torque: 10 Nm


Installation

1.

- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Install a new CHT (cylinder head temperature) sensor.
