I just bought the car listed above (XR7 model). Last night, my blower was working fine then stopped. Today, I went to AutoZone, purchased a new blower motor, plugged it in, still nothing. So I ordered a new resistor for the motor. This one has a lot crud up. I also checked the fan control, and it seems to be okay. Help what can I do? Fuses are all fine, and in place. All connections are good.

Good morning.

If you have a volt meter, check for voltage at the blower motor. There should be power on one terminal with the key on.

I do not have a voltmeter. I replaced the resistor today with a brand new one, and no luck. I ordered the climate control panel, and when that arrives, I hope I will have fixed the problem. The way I know the relay is okay. Are my ignition and blower are on the same relay under the hood? So I switched the relay with another relay of same amps just to check, sure enough, the car still started. So I am hoping this will fix it. When I turn the knob for my AC to AC my air conditioner starts to cycle on and off. I have concluded it is the blower speed switch. Everything else, has been checked/replaced.

Okay, I wish you could get a meter to confirm ant bad parts. I do not like throwing parts at this without confirming a failure. it may be a voltage issue with a wiring harness and not a component issue.

can you get a volt meter?

I have a 1997 Cougar that lost all power to the blower and controller checked all fuses and all we're good, but then I found a fuse above the fuse panel under the dash that was blown. it was a 30 amp fuse that is the main fuse to the controller on the Cougars. I'm probably on the Thunderbirds and some other Ford vehicles.
