Driving at night head lights went out, had to pull forward and constantly hold lever switch towards me to get bright lights to come on ,that is the only way I could get any headlights. I think the
Multi-function switch is bad, it does not clink and stays in place.
If it is the switch, can a 1999 Buick Century with cruise control switch be used on a 2002 Buick century without cruise control?

Hello,

The electrical connector for the switch with and without cruise is different, you won't be able to simply just plug it in.

I have attached the replacement steps below for your reference.

Let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

Thank you for responding.
Now I have another question ..
At first , both right and left low beam headlights were not working at all.. only high beams if holding lever . A few days later , the ,driver side headlight come on , but not passenger headlight. I checked fuse for front passenger headlight, and it was blown . I put in a new one and light came on. So far both low beam headlights are working fine ..
I have not tried switching to high beams. I am afraid to try high beams .
My question is , why would both sides of headlights go out and then only drivers side headlight suddenly start working ? And then passenger headlight come on but lights were very dim. . After changing fuse for passenger headlight, lights are bright. .is it safe to drive , or could there be a short and cause a fire ?
Thanks you for your time.
