I'm replacing a bad muffler on my dual exhaust, is it advised to go ahead and replace the other muffler as well?

Welcome to 2CarPros. Yes. The reason is that you want both banks of the engine to have the same amount of back pressure and exhaust flow to keep the converters happy and reading as close to the same on both sides to avoid setting a code. The interior build parts are usually different depending on the make and model of the muffler you use and that can create an imbalance, as can the internal corrosion of the components used.
